The Ale Boy’s Feast, did a number of things for me: It colored my world. It put a story behind why fiction and fantasy are important. It inspired me in my writing.

The imagery and choice words Jeffrey Overstreet  used were like seeing the vivid green of new grass at springtime after a whole winter of monochromatics. The author is definitely talented (and I wonder if his poetic wife may have assisted him in finding just the right word).

The plot centers around a city that hordes colors and beauty only for the elite. The poor people don't have a chance to indulge in such fantasy. To me, this not only describes our world, but also the world of books. I have been criticized by an author of non-fiction who looked down his nose at me for writing fantasy fiction. He lived in a black and white world. I choose to splash color, both in writing, in quilt making, in gardening, in telling others of God's love...in every aspect of my life.

For these above reasons, Auralia's Thread series has renewed in me an inspiration and love for writing.Unfortunately, it is going to have to sit on the shelf for a time, since God has asked me to put it up for the time being. Not easy, but my family needs me more.

Check out this series. Like I said before, it is a series worth buying for your library and one of the few books that  I deem deep enough for more than one reading.

Thanks for taking part in the tour, Eve. Great to know that the book has given you inspiration. No doubt God will use that in His time and way.
