The Monster in the Hollows Book review

This book, by Andrew Peterson, was a lovely surprise. I remember reading the title of the first book of this series (the Wingfeather Saga) , On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness and thinking it was a satire or for really young kids. I was wrong. The title of this book, The Monster in the Hollows, also led me to believe that it was a horror or thriller, but I was wrong again.

Needless to say, this author is full of surprises. The story line was great. I loved (spoiler alert) how the mother stood up for her son with utter disregard for her safety and total trust. Beautiful! I thought for sure that her trust was unfounded, but....

I also liked the "This Book is in the Care of_____________" page. Small touch but endearing.

A special thanks for the free book sent to me for the purpose of reviewing!

Can't wait to read the other books in the series, now. :)
